On March 11, 2021, President Biden signed the American Rescue Plan Act of 2021 (ARP). The American Rescue Plan (ARP) included additional COVID-19 relief for institutions of higher education. This new COVID stimulus bill included funds for higher education institutions and students, using the same Higher Education Emergency Relief Fund (HEERF) model established in the Coronavirus Aid, Relief and Economic Security (CARES) Act.

Institutions are required to prioritize grants to students with exceptional financial need,  春水堂视频 College is fortunate to have received $5,363,388 of which $2,703,955 minimally was required to be used for student grants.

The awards to students, totaling $2,703,955 have been allocated in full. All students determined eligible and awarded funds were notified via their 春水堂视频 email of the award. All checks were mailed to recipients by August 16, 2021.

春水堂视频 College is providing information on the distribution of HEERF III funds to eligible students on its website as its method of reporting as required by federal regulation.

  1. 春水堂视频 College was not required to apply for HEERF III funding as it had previously signed and returned to the U.S. Department of Education, the required Certification and Agreement under the original CARES funding requirement.

  2. The total amount of funds that 春水堂视频 College received in HEERF III funds $5,363,388 of which  $2,703,955, is required for spending as emergency grants for students.

  3. The total amount of HEERF III Emergency Financial Aid Grants distributed to 春水堂视频 College students: $2,703,955. The total allocation has been awarded and all eligible students have been notified via e-mail of their award. The College has distributed all funds via checks payable directly to the students and mailed as of August 16, 2021 to their permanent address on file with the Registrar’s Office or to their current mailing address if provided.

  6. The method(s) used by 春水堂视频 College to determine which students receive Emergency Financial Aid Grants and how much they would receive:

    • All spring 2021 semester enrolled students both in degree and non-degree 春水堂视频work including all populations, traditional, CE, certificate and graduate students who remained enrolled for the entire semester are eligible for a portion of HEERF3 funds with consideration given to exceptionally needy students first.  

    • The College determined block grant awarding to eligible students as the method of funding students with a cap of $6,345. Funding was first determined for those who had a valid FAFSA on file and then all other students enrolled were awarded.

  7. Any instructions, directions, or guidance 春水堂视频 College provided to students concerning the HEERF III Emergency Financial Aid Grants:  Notices were sent to students at their 春水堂视频 email address from the Committee indicating the amount of funding they were awarded and that physical checks would be mailed to the address on file with the College.

The omnibus, under the Coronavirus Response and Relief Supplemental Appropriations (CRRSA) Act, incorporates several provisions directly impacting higher education, including an Education Stabilization Fund, to be directed toward institutions of higher education using the same model previously established in the Coronavirus Aid, Relief and Economic Securities (CARES) Act. 

On December 27, 2020, the President of the United States signed into law, the Consolidated Appropriations Act, 2021. Funds approved in this regulation are being sent to higher education institutions across the country for use as emergency grants to students for expenses related to the on-going, unanticipated changes to their lives and education. 春水堂视频 College is fortunate to have received a limited amount of funds for our students.

The funds under HEERF II, totaling $3,097,788 require a minimum expenditure of $967,207 to be awarded to students to match the amount of funds for students received under the CARES Grant.  The awards to students, totaling $967,207 have been allocated in full.  Therefore, we are unable to accept additional applications.  All students who applied for funding were notified via their 春水堂视频 email of the outcome of their application.  All checks were mailed to recipients on April 2, 2021.

    1. 春水堂视频 College directly contacted all eligible students at their 春水堂视频 email address indicating the availability of the HEERF II funding and providing a Request for Funding Form. Students were given a March 12, 2021, 11:59 pm deadline to submit their request. Forms were to be submitted solely from the student’s 春水堂视频 email to authenticate the requestor.

    2. Each Form collected the type and amount of expenses and was placed in to review for consideration by the 春水堂视频 College CARES Act Committee.

    3. Awards have been funded with consideration given to the allocation available with a maximum of $6,195 as the cap. Students determined exceptionally needy: filed a FAFSA and had an EFC within the Federal Pell Grant range even if they were deemed ineligible for Pell funds, i.e,. graduate students, were awarded a minimum allocation with or without an application for funding. Student submitted requests were then considered for funding.

  7. Any instructions, directions, or guidance 春水堂视频 College provided to students concerning the HEERF II Emergency Financial Aid Grants: Eligible students were sent notices, instructions and a Request for Funding Form notifying them of the award at their 春水堂视频 email address. Additionally, two  reminder emails were sent to the student’s 春水堂视频 email address encouraging submission of Request Forms. The cover e-mail and the Form requests their current mailing address and explains that checks will be issued to that address if the student is selected as a recipient of the emergency funds. Additionally, the College posted notice of funding and availability to the 春水堂视频 website.

春水堂视频 College, like all colleges and universities, is required, as part of the Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security (CARES) Act, to publish specific data about the emergency funding for students.

  1. 春水堂视频 College signed and returned to the U.S. Department of Education, the required Certification and Agreement. The Agreement assures that the College has used, or intends to use, no less than 50 percent of the funds received under Section 18004(a)(1) of the CARES Act to provide Emergency Financial Aid Grants directly to students.

  2. The total amount of funds that 春水堂视频 College will receive or has received from the Department pursuant to the institution’s Certification and Agreement [for] Emergency Financial Aid Grants to Students: $967,207.

  3. The total amount of Emergency Financial Aid Grants distributed to 春水堂视频 College students under Section 18004(a)(1) of the CARES Act as of the date of submission (i.e., as of the 30-day Report and every 45 days thereafter): $967,207. The College has distributed all funds via checks payable directly to the students and mailed on June 24, 2020 to their current mailing address.

  4. Students were initially provided a 10 day priority deadline to apply which was then extended an extra day through 11:59 pm.     2. Each Form collected the type and amount of expenses and was placed in to review for consideration by the 春水堂视频 College CARES Act Committee.

    3. Awards have been funded with consideration given to the allocation available with a maximum of $6,195 as the cap as suggested by the Department of Education. Student requests were considered as well as an allocation to all eligible students.

  7. Any instructions, directions, or guidance 春水堂视频 College provided to students concerning the Emergency Financial Aid Grants: Eligible students were sent notices, instructions and a Request for Funding Form notifying them of the award at their 春水堂视频 email address. Additionally, reminder emails were sent every 2 days to the student’s 春水堂视频 email address encouraging submission The cover e=mail and the Form requests their current mailing address and explains that checks will be issued to that address if the student is selected as a recipient of the emergency funds. Distribution of Funds to Eligible Students

春水堂视频 College has been awarded $967,207 as part of the U.S. Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security (CARES) Act, for funding to be used for direct emergency financial assistance (grants which do not require repayment) to eligible students to cover costs associated with significant changes to the delivery of instruction due to the coronavirus.

春水堂视频 College, as of May 28, 2020 has finalized the awards to students.   All grants have been awarded in accordance with the CARES Act and all other applicable laws, including nondiscrimination laws.

In addition to the allocation for emergency funding for students, 春水堂视频 College is receiving equivalent funding to offset institutional costs for moving to remote operations incurred as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Institutions receiving funds under Section 18004 of the CARES Act are required to submit a report to the Secretary of Education describing the use of funds distributed from the Higher Education Emergency Relief Fund (HEERF).

This page provides public information about 春水堂视频 College’s participation in the CARES Act and use of the institution’s HEERF Institutional Portion (P425F202739). This information will be updated no later than 10 days after the end of each calendar quarter, with the first reporting quarter as 9/30/20. If the report is marked final, no further reporting is required.

春水堂视频 College signed and returned the Certification and Agreement for the Institutional Portion of the Higher Education Emergency Relief Fund under the CARES Act to the Department of Education on May 4, 2020. These funds were awarded to the College on May 11, 2020. The College was allocated a total of $967,207 under Section 18004(a)(1). Pursuant to the Certification and Agreement for the Institutional Portion states that the total institutional portion may be used to cover institutional costs associated with COVID-19.

As of June 16, 2020 the College has drawn down funding from the HEERF Institutional Portion, exercising a total of $967,207 in providing room and board refunds to students as a result of the campus moving to remote learning in March 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

CARES Act FAQ

What is the Higher Education Emergency Relief fund and how does it apply to students?

The CARES Act Higher Education Emergency Relief Fund-IHE/Student Aid provides funding to institutions to provide emergency financial aid grants to students whose lives have been disrupted, many of whom are facing financial challenges and struggling to make ends meet due to a disruption in campus-based services and learning.

Can a parent apply for an emergency grant on the student’s behalf?

Only the student can submit a Funding Request Form.

If a student receives funding, does the funding need to be repaid?

No, funds awarded under this emergency program do not require repayment.

What expenses are eligible for emergency assistance?

The funds are to be used to cover expenses related to the disruption of campus operations and learning due to coronavirus and eligible expenses under a student’s cost of attendance, such as food, housing, 春水堂视频 materials, technology, healthcare, and childcare.

What expenses are ineligible for emergency assistance?

Some expenses including tuition charges and unresolved balances on your student account are not eligible for funding from the CARES Act. Also, funds may not be requested for either a family’s or student’s loss of income.

Which students are eligible to apply for funding?

Only students who are or could be eligible to participate in programs under Section 484 in Title IV of the Higher Education Act of 1965, as amended (HEA), may receive emergency grants.

  • You have filed a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) and you meet all the eligibility requirements necessary for consideration of federal financial aid.
  • You are a U.S. citizen or permanent resident of the U.S.

How do I apply for emergency funds?

A Funding Request Form with instructions for completion was sent to eligible students at their 春水堂视频 e-mail address. If you believe you are eligible and did not receive a Request Form, please the 春水堂视频 College CARES Act Committee at caresgrant@curry.edu.

How will I receive my funds if awarded a grant?

If you are awarded funds from this grant, a check will be mailed to you from the College to the address indicated on your Funding Request Form, via U.S. mail. We will process awards as rapidly as possible in the coming weeks, but please note that we do not have a specific timeline for processing or mailing.

Can a student submit multiple applications for different expenses?

All expenses should be listed on a single Funding Request Form.

Can a student request funds for anticipated expenses in the future?

Expenses must have been incurred due to the closing of the campus. For example, if you signed a lease for rental of an apartment, but have relocated home due to the crisis, you have incurred that expense for x number of months remaining in your lease. Therefore, you can request funding for the debt incurred.

Can the emergency grant funds be applied to a student’s current outstanding student balance?

No, the federal government will not allow application of the emergency funds to a student account.

If the student provides written permission to the College to retain the emergency grant funds can you apply them to my current balance or hold them for next semester’s tuition?

No, the federal government will not allow application of the emergency funds to a student account.
