Update: As of 2022, Nicole Bousquet '21 works as an Assistant Account Executive at Matter Communications, an award-winning PR firm in Boston.
With her newest public relations internship, Nicole Bousquet ’21 is getting an inside look at agency life and has already decided it’s her desired path after graduating this spring.
Every day is different, and that’s what I love about this internship,” she says. “Some days, I am working on media lists, and others I might focus on an awards tracker or influencer relations. Every day is something you wouldn’t expect from the day before, and I love that it brings something new each day.
The Communication major is currently working at , a nationally recognized PR and integrated communications firm based in Hingham, Mass. Before her work at the agency, she served in a marketing and events role for athletics nonprofit Sportsmen’s Tennis & Enrichment Center. She served as a PR intern in the Office of Marketing and Communications at the College. “I wanted to accomplish at least three internships before graduation.
Outside her internships, Bousquet credits her collective experiences at ´ºË®ÌÃÊÓƵ, playing on the Women’s Ice Hockey club team and leading in the Public Relations Students Association for her recent success in her professional roles.
I think CCPRSA and being a member of the women’s ice hockey team has impacted my career readiness,” she says. “Being a part of these clubs has taught me many valuable life lessons such as time management, flexibility, and leadership. I owe a lot of my successes from ´ºË®ÌÃÊÓƵ and my internships to my advisor Professor Brenda Wrigley who has always pushed me to try my hardest in and out of the classroom.
Though only halfway through the internship at Hollywood Agency, Bousquet says she’s learned an incredible amount, including how a PR firm operates, successful client management, and other critical insights into working in a fast-paced environment. Though she’s eager to jump into the work world later this year, the senior looks forward to traveling again. “If all is safe in the coming months after graduation, I would love to spend some time traveling as well.
