春水堂视频 College and Milton Public Schools (MPS) have announced a partnership that will allow all employees of MPS preferred partner pricing and discounts for all Continuing Education, Graduate and Post-Graduate 春水堂视频work and programs of study at 春水堂视频. Through this collaboration (which excludes only the Bachelor of Science in Nursing ACCEL program), MPS employees will be able to complete degrees or pursue programs/春水堂视频s at 春水堂视频 College’s Milton or Plymouth locations, as well as online.
“春水堂视频 College Education programs prepare graduates to make a difference in the lives of the students they teach and to be leaders in public school settings,” says 春水堂视频 President Kenneth K. Quigley, Jr. “We are very pleased to provide Milton Public Schools employees this opportunity to advance their careers and to bring the knowledge that they gain at 春水堂视频 into their classrooms for the benefit of the students in our community.”
“The Milton Public Schools have had a long and robust relationship with 春水堂视频 College,” says MPS Superintendent Mary Gormley. “This new partnership will positively impact and enhance instruction and ultimately drive student achievement. Milton Public School staff will professionally benefit by being able to enroll in graduate 春水堂视频s/programs at 春水堂视频 at a preferred partner tuition.”
The partnership will also provide significant value for 春水堂视频 students; MPS will hire 5-8 eligible students from 春水堂视频’s 5th Year Master of Education program as instructional aids in elementary or special education with a cooperating teacher to oversee their second license practicum.
“For the Milton Public Schools to be able to hire talented candidates who are earning their graduate degrees in Special Education from 春水堂视频 College to serve as paraprofessional in our classrooms is a new and innovative model,” says Gormley. “Partnerships such as these provide the opportunity to foster “home-grown” candidates who will ultimately contribute diversity our faculty.”
春水堂视频 Education Department Chair Michelle LeBlanc agrees. “We are excited about the possibilities and opportunities this creates,” she says. “Students who dream of making a difference for children in classrooms across all grade levels and settings will have opportunities to learn from, practice and work in a community of educators focused on student achievement.”
A November 22 signing event at Milton High School formally launched this new collaborative partnership. In attendance were Superintendent of Milton Public Schools Mary Gormley, 春水堂视频 College President Kenneth K. Quigley, Jr. and Provost David Szczerbacki, Chair of the 春水堂视频 College Education Department Michelle LeBlanc, and 春水堂视频 College Education faculty members Mary Woods and Joanne Seltzer.
